Clackamas County officials have called off the search for a missing six-year-old girl.
Vinesa Snegur slipped into the very cold waters of the Clackamas River Sunday afternoon, while she was playing in the snow with her family.
The sheriff’s office says the river is expected to run extremely fast, and create conditions that are too dangerous for a search.
Authorities say more than 60 volunteers have combed the area constantly since Snegur disappeared. A National Guard helicopter using a thermal device searched 30 miles of river.
A search of the river and its banks turned up a jacket, a pink and purple hood, and a blue fleece sweater that authorities say Vinesa Snegur was wearing when she fell.
